CHEF ED DYCHAUCO, RN (CULINARY ARTIST, CAKE DESIGNER, NURSE ENTREPRENEUR)
A U.S. trained Psychiatric Nurse, Chef Ed S. Dychauco started his career as a serious culinary artist after winning the regional & national competition in the SIOPAO Category of "RFM National Siopao, Cake & Pastry Making Contest" way back in 1983. And has won many other National baking & cake decorating competitions thereafter.
But previously, Chef Ed already has the inclination of getting involved in his sister's work in the kitchen when he was just a kid, tasting & commenting on everything that is being cooked or baked by family members.
Inherent God-given talent & passion made him what he is today, an artistic cake designer & decorator, an excellent baker, good cook & culinary instructor.
He has served as a judge in numerous culinary & other artistic competitions all over the country. he has done countless culinary demonstrations in the many major cities in the Philippines, during food expositions, in HRM schools, for livelihood projects, for DTI & TESDA, etc. He is also consultant to many bakeshops, food establishments, resorts & hotels.
An innovator in the culinary field, he has introduced many things in the city, if not for a greater part of Mindanao also. He pioneered in Photo Edible Image Cakes, Fondant Cakes, Satellite Cakes for weddings & debuts, Cupcakes, Cookies & Brownies as party favors, Dessert Buffets, Chocolate Fondue Fountains, and many others.
Chef Ed has guested in many local TV shows and at one time had his own culinary TV program. his weekly articles on food, activities, events & the like comes out in 4 local newspapers and can also be read online.
Aside from being a Culinary Artist, Chef Ed continue to share his knowledge in the nursing field by conducting seminars, workshops, lectures, & classes in major schools in Mindanao.
